An audit does not consist of counting equipment; it verifies whether people, accesses, procedures and technical means form a coherent arrangement.
Five priority controls
- Perimeter and access: identify entrances, vulnerable areas, fences, lights and blind spots.
- Flow: Distinguishing personnel, visitors, vehicles, suppliers and deliveries.
- Instructions: verify who authorizes, controls, alerts and documents each situation.
- Answer: test emergency contacts, escalation and continuity in case of incident.
- Evidence: review records, rounds, anomalies, correction times and service reviews.
Expected deliverable
The report must prioritise deviations by level of risk, propose realistic actions, identify a responsible person and set a deadline, and then technical investments come, when they meet a clearly demonstrated need.
